Kingsdown PTA

Kingsdown School has a very supportive PTA which consists of parents and friends of the school. Its main purpose is to raise money for the school and children.

The PTA supports the entire up-keep of two mini buses which transports the children to exciting and appropriate off-site venues. On a weekly basis, it also enables children to attend swimming sessions at local swimming pools.

At present, the PTA is working towards purchasing a new mini bus as well as supporting the school in other areas.

The PTA always welcomes new members and ideas, so if anybody can spare some time no matter how little, or has an idea, then please contact Karen Langley the Chairperson, as extra help is always needed.

PTA Coffee Mornings

Coffee Mornings take place between 10.00 am – 12.00 pm and are held in the Parents/Meetings Room at Kingsdown.

Other areas which the PTA have assisted, are:

The purchase of outdoor toys
The purchase of safety helmets for children to safely use trikes at break times
The purchase of sensory equipment
The purchase of two purpose built canopies for the playground that will provide shade from the sun in the summer. Both canopies are designed for wheelchair users as well as having seating.

Kingsdown School PTA Social Events

During the past year, the Kingsdown School PTA has organised social events, which include:

A Quiz Night
A Charity Meal
A Children's Summer Party
A Pamper Night
Individual Christmas presents for each child
Funding for class trips at Christmas
Christmas Bazaar

Kingsdown School PTA Fund-raising

In total, this year, the PTA has raised approximately £4,500. A substantial amount of our total funds paid for the canopies which are a great benefit for the children in all weathers.
