P3 School Trip to Great Notley Discovery Centre, July 2011

On Tuesday 12 July 2011, Hedgehog class visited the Discovery Centre at Great Notley Country Park, near Braintree, Essex.

It was a very physical day for everyone, with lots to do and try. Some of the children even entered the park by walking across a narrow rope-bridge.

There were two interactive water-features which worked when you moved levers and pedals and pumped water through little canals and a wide platform which acted like a giant see-saw when you walked from one side to the other. It was great fun and made a really good thump each time - the children loved it and wanted to do it again and again!

There were lots of different areas to explore by sliding, balancing, swinging, bouncing and spinning and a set of musical wooden planks that made a noise when you trod on them or used your wheelchair wheels to press them down. In between the different areas, there were wobbly bridges you could walk along and round spinning-platforms.

The time went by so quickly and all too soon, it was time for lunch before reurning to school. The weather was good, there was so much to do and everyone had a great time!
